Position Overview
Part-time locum opportunity for a Psychiatrist in an inpatient setting primarily serving children and adolescents, with occasional coverage for adult units as needed. This role focuses on acute psychiatric care, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning.
Schedule & Setting
Inpatient hospital setting with a consistent part-time schedule, Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (20 hours per week). Providers will cover multiple units located within the same facility.
Patient Care
Care for patients ages 6–18 in a structured inpatient environment, with the possibility of occasional adult coverage. Average caseload includes 10–12 patients, with approximately 1–2 admissions and discharges per day.
Assignment Details
Locum tenens assignment with a preferred duration of 6–9 months and the option to extend. Immediate start available. This is a long-term coverage need within a hospital-based setting.
Qualifications
Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist with an active New York license. Experience in inpatient psychiatry, particularly with pediatric populations, is highly preferred.
Compensation & Support
Competitive hourly compensation with malpractice coverage included. Travel and lodging assistance may be available depending on candidate needs. Rates are flexible and may vary based on experience and availability.
Practice Environment
