Permanent Full-Time Inpatient Adult Psychiatrist in Bronx, NY

Our facility is seeking an inpatient psychiatrist to supply care in the surrounding areas of Bronx, NY. 

Setting: Inpatient

Common Diagnoses: Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, Major Depressive Disorder

• Lots of substance use disorder in this unit (separate addiction program with detox)

Hours: Full time - 40 hours

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

• Flexibility in scheduling (7-3, etc)
• 4, 10 hour shifts is an option

Assignment Type: Permanent

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Board eligible is acceptable, but board certified is desirable
• Large residency program - will also be supervising residents, co-signing notes of residents and providing guidance for them. Will also have the ability to get involved with academia (teaching classes), etc. if interested

Details: 

Total Number of Hospital Beds – 3 total inpatient units (average 26-27 patients per unit)

Patient Population: Adults ages 18 - end of life

Beds Seen By Provider:

• Psych NP would carry 10/26 patients
• Residents carry 6/26 patients
• Attending psychiatrist would cover the rest

Admissions/Day: depends on discharges. Try not to go over 5-6 a day

Discharges/Day: depends

Average LOS: 15 days
