Job Description

Position Overview

Part-time Locum Psychiatrist opportunity providing inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents in a state-operated behavioral health facility. This role focuses on caring for pediatric patients in a structured inpatient setting using evidence-based treatment approaches.

Schedule & Location

Part-time schedule, Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM (20 hours per week). This is a long-term locum opportunity with an initial 6–9 month assignment and the option to extend.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment

  • Care for children and adolescents ages 6–18

  • Manage approximately 10–12 inpatient beds

  • Participate in admissions, treatment planning, and discharge planning

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team

Candidate Requirements

  • Active New York medical license

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist

  • Experience treating children and adolescents strongly preferred

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation available. Travel and lodging assistance may be considered for qualified providers.
